AMPI Advanced: Lighting & Cinematography Workshop, was led by Christopher L. Thomas at Publics. Film production budgets are getting smaller and cinematographers are required to use less equipment while still maintaining a cinematic look. Simultaneously, the camera and lighting technology is evolving faster than ever. As a result, young cinematographers at the beginning of their careers have entered a working world far different from what they were trained for.

AMPI Advanced: Directing Workshop was led by Jonas Rothlaender and took place in Design Museum Helsinki. It focused almost entirely on the very foundation of cinema: How can I express what I want to tell with (moving) images? And (how) does the audience perceive or understand it?

In June 2018—with the financial support and collaboration of TAIKE, Goethe-Institut Finland, and Perpetuum Mobile—our working group put a fee-free filmmaking test workshop into practice—a one-week intensive filmmaking workshop, directed by Erol Mintaş.
